Joe offers expert legal guidance and services to his clients in the areas of Estate Planning and Trusts, Probate, Guardianships, Medicaid planning, and VA Benefit applications. Prior to joining Richard A. Myers, Jr. and Associates as an Elder Law attorney, he managed the Contracts department at a large worldwide manufacturing company, implementing legal and risk management/mitigation strategies in the Contracts Department. He also acted as that Company’s Chief Compliance Officer and sole internal counsel after the company was sold to a private equity group, helping transition the company to a hybrid online sales model, growing the worldwide distributor network by 7% in his first year, and bringing the company into compliance with the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA) during his tenure.
Previous to that experience, Joe helped thousands of defrauded investors, both big and small, recover their stolen funds, helping to win large Ponzi-scheme class action settlements in excess of $50 million plus.
Joe has been married to his best friend, Monica, since 2008 and has three little boys, Benjamin (2016), Jonah (2018), and Elliott (2020), who keep him extremely busy at home and young in his heart. In his spare time, Joe is a voracious reader and enjoys reading and writing fanfiction.
I was very impressed and pleased to know I could call Richard Myers and he would get back to me so quickly on a personal matter that I had. He answered all my questions without hesitation. I highly recommend him to others.

I and my family highly recommend Richard Myers. He has guided us through the unending difficulties of accessing assistance for my Mother through the last three years of her life. He helped us apply for veteran’s assistance, set up a family trust, worked directly with the nursing home and any issue that I had questions about whether it was what to do with accounts at the bank or dealing with the pressure of getting all the bills sorted out. Richard and his staff worked to gain Medicaid assistance when mom had to go into a nursing home. This process was beyond difficult and I certainly would not have be able to negotiate the process on my own.
The support and wisdom that Richard provided has provided made our journey much smoother. My only regret is that I did not find him sooner. My husband and I will continue to work with his firm in planning and anticipating our financial needs for the rest of our retirement and beyond.
