Aid and attendance is a non-service connected benefit. So, we don't have to prove any limitations, and physical activities or disabilities to service to our country can be in this age-related infirmities.

What You Need to Establish

90 Days of Active Duty 

You have to establish 90 days of active duty during a period of war. One day of those days has to be during that period of war. We encourage you to go to our website, where we've got those dates posted.

Medical Need

You also have to also establish that there's a medical need and that there is an expense as it relates to meeting those medical needs. 

A Common Mistake with VA Eligibility 

There is an income cap listed on the VA's website. Many people will see that income cap and say that they won't qualify because they make more than that cap. However, the number they use on the website is very confusing - they're referencing a calculation, not just gross income.
